Porch Recital and P.F. Changs

Tonight Sarai prepped the porch to get ready for the first neighborhood porch recital of the season.

Much to Sarai’s chagrin we didn’t have a recipe but we did have a sack of P.F. Chang’s frozen dinner that I grabbed from the grocery store a few months ago on a whim.  The picture on the package looked good I guess?

The directions are simple – you dump the sack in a skillet and cook covered for 10 minutes, then take off the lid and cook for an additional 2 minutes to thicken the sauce. IMG_0600

See those large orange chunks in the mix?  That’s the sauce that has apparently been frozen into blocks before going into the sack, it liquifies as you cook.

The finished produce is decent but doesn’t have quite the same feel as the restaurant experience. Sarai thought, well …. she thought this was terrible.  I thought it edible.

The piano recital went really well, lots of neighbors showed up and about 8 of the students played a piece.

After the recital Catalina and Sarai got in the kitchen and baked Coconut Macaroon Cookies from the April Cooking Light.
