Tonight Catalina and I spied 3 brown bananas in the kitchen … when life gives you brown bananas, make banana bread. Catalina donned an apron and away we went.
We used a cooking light recipe: classic banana bread. We chose this recipe because we love cooking light and … we happen to have 3 brown bananas which is exactly what the recipe calls for.
After baking at 350 for one hour we tasted the product, the results were excellent.
I decided to ramp it up a little and ‘french toast’ a few slices. I toasted a few thick slices, dredged them in eggs mixed with some milk, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg, and then fried them up with some butter in a skillet.
I’m not sure it was necessary to make french toast out of banana bread as it is excellent by itself, but I ate it nonetheless.
